Hi all!
Here’s the most updated list of how to work or partner with me.
Book me for a keynote or panel presentation -- I’m ready to get back on the physical stage, within reason or I’m happy to pipe into your home virtually. Check out this playlist of some of my favorite speeches and panels over the years and email kristen@theblackurbanist.com. I am very flexible and motivational, so keep me in mind for all your events, not just your planning-related ones. I also have book bulk purchasing plans and can also incorporate a companion workshop, which will include a complimentary workbook for attendees.
Have Me Come Teach One of My Workshops -- I am launching two new workshops as companions to my Defying Gentrification workbook. The next set of these will launch on March 1, 2024 and registration will open on February 1, 2024.
Advertise in Defining Gentrification and Crafting Liberation with Kristen Jeffers and/or Open Studio with Kristen Jeffers livestream -- this is a small, but targeted list of urban planners, public administrators, elected officials, real estate agents, journalists, policy analysts urbanists, and you, whoever you are if you’re reading this newsletter. Your job opportunity, conference, workshop, or RFP invitation will be in a good home, one that’s become a trusted source for those specifically looking for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, gender-diverse colleagues, and partners. Learn more at the special The Black Urbanist advertising page and reply back to this email if you are interested in booking space.
Have Me Coach You One-on-One --Do you want me to walk you through building your arts/creative/community-focused venture? Do you want to learn how to get started with yarn and fiber? Get a more traditional urban planning or government job? Email me back and let’s sit down for a VIP session. These start at $250 an hour and you leave with a plan in hand. We can also add more meetings and there is a volume discount available for this. (Hint, this is a great thing to have your work or parents or a generous friend pay for on your behalf).
Have Me on Your Project Team/Advisory Council -- I am more than happy to be a subcontractor on your equity studies, equity commissions, comprehensive plan reviews, audits, or any other study, plan, or similar activity. Know that when I show up on a team like this, I will be coming up with the hard questions and demanding you do what it takes to provide the right answers and appropriate actions. If you’re ready to work with me in this capacity, reply back and I’ll send over my project sheets, capabilities deck, and SF-330s if needed.
